On Saturday, September 17, 2005 , On Target
hosted a community celebration tribute to honor Los Angeles ' own, music-icons, Ray
Charles and Red Holloway.
Over 200 guests and celebrity
dignitaries came out to take part in a wonderful day of listening to jazz, celebrating
local history-makers, and enjoying great food at the Celes King Heritage House. Among
those performing were Henry The Skipper Franklin Trio, The Washington High
School Jazz Band Sextet and choir, who wowed and
impressed the crowd with original compositions as well as classic Ray Charles
arrangements. Bubba Jackson and James Janisse were the MCs.
